Central sector Scheme is a scheme related for the conservation, development and sustainable management of medicinal plants and was initially approved by the cabinet vide no.CCEA/21/2008 Dated 26-06-2008.

What are the stages of Project Proposals through Central Sector Scheme?

There are two stages of the Project proposals namely Project Screening Committee (PSC) & Standing Finance Committee (SFC)

What do you mean by Project Screening Committee (PSC)?

Project Screening Committee (PSC) is the committee who screens the projects at the initial stage. The PSC occurs several times in a year. The Project Proposals reviewed & recommended by the PSC will be placed before the Standing Finance Committee (SFC) for final approval.

What do you mean by Standing Finance Committee (SFC)?

Standing Finance Committee is the committee, which investigates the financial aspects of the project proposals and considers as well as recommends all proposals for creation of new posts.

What do you mean by National Ayush Mission (NAM)?

National AYUSH Mission has been launched during the 12th Plan for implementing through States/UTs. The basic objective of NAM is to promote AYUSH medical systems through cost effective AYUSH services.

Which type of projects can be submitted through NAM Scheme?

Through NAM Scheme, Projects related to Development & Cultivation of medicinal plants, cluster Units, Small Nurseries, Model Nurseries, Drying Yards, Storage Godowns, Processing Units & Marketing etc can be submitted through Operational Guidelines for Medicinal Plants under (NAM)

What do you mean by Technical Screening Committee (TSC)?

TSC is a Committee which looks the Projects of NAM and Screens the Projects under different activities The Committee is comprise of domain experts in the relevant field and also include representative of the particular organization.

Which type of projects can be submitted through R&D?

Research & Development Projects includes namely, traceabilty of raw drugs, Germination & Seed Treatment Protocols, Bio prospecting, Population Assessment, Conservation Biology of Medicinal Plants, Collection, compilation, documentation & Validation etc related to medicinal plants
